Designed and run by our in-country team of medical professionals with invaluable support from an international team of doctors and nurses, our medical programs offer essential care and medicine to the most vulnerable communities in Manabí.

MEDICAL BRIGADES

We offer quality health care to at-risk communities with minimal access to health care, low-income families, and victims of natural disaster events. Highly trained doctors and amazing students seeking a career in the health or research field volunteer with us from all over the world, providing care and screenings for hypertension and diabetes.

DIABETES HOME VISITS

Patients in our communities who suffer from diabetes often lack transportation to care facilities and resources to pay for essential medicines. Our diabetes home visits offer personal, in-home care in our partnered communities in Bahía de Caráquez. Thanks to our generous partners at SUNY Upstate Medical University who provide all our insulin products, glucose monitors and test strips, our medical professionals offer treatments that would otherwise not be available. Our patients can walk again, re-join their families and begin to live a normal life while managing their symptoms.

CHILDREN’S CLINICS

Our team provides assessments on height, weight, vision, and general physicals to the children in our partner communities. Understanding these trends over time is important to ensure that children are growing properly and meeting the World Health Organization growth standards. Parents and children can partake in nutrition and exercise workshops to ensure that important information on key nutrients and vitamins are learned in a family setting together and in a fun and engaging manner.
